Covertible top is dead!

Thanks in advance for helping me on this. I have a 1996 328IC and the top is completely dead. When I push the top motor I get nothing, no light, windows don't go down and definately no electric motor noise.

The previous owner said the top was really slow and then oneday it did not work at all. He was operating it as a manual top when I aquired the car.

I have checked the fuses in front and the one in the trunk and they are fine. I check the power top switch and it is good. The motor for the top works. One thing I did notice is when operating in manual mode the top lid did not lock. I don't know if that is an issue or not. I think my main concern is that during a failure the light would blink. Mine does nothing. Is there a common failure point to these tops? Whatever suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Update

Tested the lid motor and that works too. Other than the module what else would cause the system not to power up? I know if it was a sensor the light would flash.
