A couple of questions - BMW Forum

Hello Everyone:
So I am the proud owner of a 1992 325i.
This is not my first Bimmer, I have also had a 2005 325i & a 2008 328i both FANTASTIC CARS!!
Life throws us curves sometimes, not going into details. Suffice it to say I promised myself I would sort everything out and once I did I would get another Bimmer.
So now I have one ..... feels good!!
As this is my first Bimmer that is not new I need to educate myself and learn to fix a few things, I love a challange (that must be someting I learned in the army)!
I have decided I would like to fix the OBC display 11 button, (can I upgrade to a 18 button?) replace the air boot ast+t, and adjust the sun roof that sticks when closing.

Anyway it is an E36 with an M50 and a 5 speed manual
Any input is welcome, you may need to "dumb down" your answers for a rookie

Congrats on the E36 purchase! Fantastic cars. I would start with replacing the air boot as it can lead to driveability concerns if severely cracked/split.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I am working on the air boot issue as we speak.
I also have some dash light issues to deal with. It seems to me there should be some back lighting around the rotary knobs for the ventilation system. Also the passenger side window switches are dark but work to operate the windows.
I also need to look at the front passenger door (right side in my case) window regulator.
And the OBC display is speaking Klingon or something, I am starting to think the problem might be the ribbon connector rather than the actual OBC display unit.
