Coupe Doors/windows

Mate of mine has a 1993 325i coupe and his doors just refuse to open. the locking pin moves up and down but the down doesnt open. bmw have said something about a problem on early coupes.

also the same door the window only goes 85% of the way up.

are these known problems?

how do we fix this?

If they open from the inside handle but not the outside you can adjust the out handle by remove the gromet in the door and slacking the screw

Can you explain how to fix that a littel better, mine does they same thing. It opens from the inside, but not from the outside.
