are these cosmos intakes im seeing everyone getting any good? it seemslike more and more members are starting to get these.... are they alright quality, not thinking about getting one, im just asking
I got one and I love it! very well made and easy to install. Sounds good too. Hard to tell performance wise because when I installed mine is when I did the engine swap so no comparision to go off of there.
Cool thing is, it's a true cai that goes behind the bumper. had to remove one of my horns though to get it to fit but wasn't that bad.
I got mine, and the hole they drilled for my air sensor wasn't right at all, it also came in the ugliest, blue color... Here it is before... I messed with it. I installed it like this because I just wanted to see how it sounded, then I modified the piping.
Here it is after I sanded down the blue paint off, and drilled another hole that's perfect for my air sensor. There were originally two pipes that came with the kit... I was able to get rid of the smaller pipe and use just the larger one. Moving the horns around was a pain though, but I think you have to do that anyway...
well i got mine from cosmo's web site. you have to move one of you horns, but they include the kit to do that. it also moves the filter away from the heat of the engine... im happy, sounds great and all through second it whistles like a turbo. depends what car you have----
I bought the same one as jrhaile and I think its great. The one that we bought was actually from a guy who's on bimmerforums, not exactly direct from cosmos. What I also like about it is that its 3.5" as compared to standard 3" and bending seems to be close to a dinan.
Oh i see... mine is the Cosmo Racing, - www.cosmoracing.com vs Cosmos Racing, - www.cosmosracing.com ... I'm still very happy with mine, it's perfect, I'm sure both would be good but if I had a second chance, I'd go with the Cosmos Racing one
I don't trust intakes that get so close to the ground - unless they have goretex (Dinan), and I worry about that restricting airflow. I personally went with an ECIS and I couldn't be happer. We also sell GruppeM style intakes on our site that supposedly fit certain E36's .. I'll have to check on that
