I am expecting my Umnizta ZKW ellipsoid w. DDE lightning enhanced headlights within a day or two. I saw pictures all over with cars with just the "angel eyes" and the foglights on, without the Corner lights. (im guessing it is in "running" mode where the corner lites and foglites are on) .. I heard that there was a really easy way to accomplish this. Does the "angel eyes" automatically turn on in "running mode" (with the corners and foglites)? How do I "delete" the corner lights in this running mode and keep the foglites//angel eyes?
Your new ZKW's will come with a plug and play adaptor minus one grey lead. This lead is the pos+ lead for your DDE. I wired mine to come on with my parking lights, but I imagine you could wire it so that it comes on with the turn of your key...
Or if you didn't want your parking lights on at all, you could just put a single element bulb in for the turn signal so that it only illuminates when you turn on your blinker.

sound illegal \ i bet i'd get pulled over in a minute by the cops around here for not having parking lights on while i'm driving.
is it possible to just wire it up so that when u turn the "knob" once (so that the corners/fogs are on) the fogs and angel eyes turn on?
i don't quite get ya on the "plug and play" deal.. i see it advertised with the product on umnitza's website, i just dont understand it. does it make it simple to have the angel eyes light up when u turn the "knob" once?
its very easy, i was actually just doing this tonight....
take out your corner lights, and unplug the light assembly
unscrew the light, and pull out... you will see 2 bumps on the back of the bulb
1 bump is for the turn signal, the other is for the parking light
take electrical tape and cover up one of the bumps (guess and test)
plug the bulb back in, and turn your parking lights on, if they dont turn on, then GOOD JOB!
if they do, go back and cover up the other bump
i just did this about 20 mins ago, ironic i see this thread on the forums. i decided to UNdelete my corner lights after seeing them off because i have smoked corners with clear light bulbs so it looks kind of pimp with them on
(!!!!! my bumps on my lights did not look like this, but the mod still worked)

Well thats sort of what I was thinking but, i was thinking of more towards having the parking lights ONLY come on when u turn the headlites on. NOT just turn the parking lites off completely because i have a feeling at night I'll get pulled over for not having my corner lights on =\
is it possible to have the parking lites off in "running mode" so only the fogs/angel eyes are on and have the parking lites turn on when u flip the headlites on?

NO you will not get pulled over for that, trust me...
considering how bored some cops are around here, they are willing to pull you over for anything that doesn't look "normal". i'd rather be safe than sorry =\
well, if you are confident with wiring, then figure out which of the wires are for the steady power for the parking lights for the first position...cut it, and splice it with a twist cap and some electrical tape for a seal, into the constant power wire for the straight head lights...Just remember, its all positives and negatives, so it can't be that hard...
If I had a set of lights I wanted to do this with, I would post a more in depth DIY...but if you have any questions, PM me and I can take a look at it at home tomorrow or something...

If your sketched out about getting pulled over, just put in city lights. Its what they use in Europe instead of parking lights. They only use the corners for turning signals. Go find the E36 DIY Library and look for it under lighting.
