The person who previously owned my BMW put cheap green brand x coolant in. I have decided to put in BMW brand coolant in. I have already drained the system to change the thermostat but I had noticed there was still very small puddles of coolant left in. The person I was working with already put everything back togethor. Should I ignore the small puddles and put the stuff in or should I fill the system with water let it run then drain, then put the BMW antifreeze in?
I would not try to flush it out with water. He's talking about running his car on water (which contain minerals and whatnot) if you're going to put water in your car at least use distilled water.
I'm sure they make something SPECIFICALLY for flushing your radiator clean.
So should I use distilled water when adding the other antifreeze?
So its afirmative that I should flush out before refilling with new coolant there is only small puddle and I can't get to it because the thermostat housing has already been installed.
