coolant leaking

well i been having this problem for the past week i have a 323is 1998 it leaking coolant i lifted the car and i saw some residue on one of the heater hoses i tok it down and i tightenit now i drove it aggain but it lookes like its coming from the transmision is there any hoses of flow of coolant that go to the transmision if there is can you help me thanks

ok this could be your problem. On my E36 the overflow hose for the radiator got tore out of place by the fan and it shattered the fan into many pices. Fixed my fan and hose and the car still leaked. My radiator got a hole put in it by the fan. Its very possible its ur radiator leaking. Check ur fan blades and make shure that they are all their.

no the thisng is leaking from the back of the engine not the font i got under the car and you see all the transmision covered in coolant fluid but it only happens after i have driven the car when i park it and i turn the engine off thats when it starts and im asking of the transmision has any entrance of coolant to cool it down or is there some hoses behind the engine by the firewall

There are transmission coolant lines, but they carry transmission fluid from the trans thru the radiator core & back to the trans for the sole purpose of cooling the transmission fluid, which is red.........it's sounds like maybe you have a heater core hose that is leaking. There are 2 hose that run along & thru the engine firewall which is right above where the rear of the engine meets the trans.
