Has anyone replaced the window themselves? Need guidiance? I did it this weekend but I had a few questions too

how much did it cost? i was thinking of just buying the plastic cost about $45 for a 25x55'' sheet so i thought i could just do it my self

hey, the window was 130.00 shipped from emiata.com just google bmw 328ic convertible window. i have had the window on for two months now and its just fine! it went in so smoothly i couldn't even believe it, only thing that i strongly suggest is using a different fabric glue to glue down the outer part on the window once you see the directions you would know what i am talking about, and you need to buy a replacement gasket for the outside, bc i was not able to get my old one back on and i have not been able to get to the dealer to buy the piece so i did not do it yet, but other than those two set backs its great! i am supper happy! also when you do the gluing make sure you keep it out of the sun until its dry maybe do the replacement at night and then the glue can dry, bc i think that might have had an impact on how the glue dried. any other ? just ask!

yah but im being cheap lol i believe i can sow in a zipper and such lol but i dont know where to find a long enough zipper piece. i was looking at emiata.com also but didnt know if it was real and i might be scammed i want the tinted version bc i asked around and no one can tint plastic any ideas?

hey!
like i said before, this window is awesome! i am so happy with it! and i saved a alot of money. it it not scam, i ordered the window online and it was shipped so fast, he even sent a conformation number and all that good stuff, i was considering the tinted window too but i was not sure about it because i have not seen it in person, but now i wish i had, bc it is so annoying when i drive at night and people have their high bright head lights on my ass it shines right through the car!! the kit comes with glue ( which i suggest using a better one..) two zippers, a string and needle. I advise getting more twine just to ensure it gets sown down properly bc you will not be reusing the metal stock staple.. and then i just read alot online about installation and then watched a few videos on you tube and i got the window in on the first try, it was alot of sweating and a little confusing when you are trying to figure out which way it goes in, but after that just zip it slowly and it goes right in! and then you glue the outisde like the fabric to the new windows fabric and i have not gotten the ruber outside seal yet.. so i need to reglue and get a new seal.. but the window is awesom and has held up very well! i HIGHLY reccomendddddd.! any other questions let me know,!

thanks alot for reassuring me on getting the window from emiata well i hope the plastic holds off for a few years, so have you done any mods on your vert?

I bought the window on line and everything went fine except for the glue. Now I have several spots that bleed through the top and are visible outside the diameter of the trim. I can't get the glue off. Does anyone know where I can get a trim piece for the window that is about 3/4 inch wide.

About the small, black trim piece surrounding the outside of the rear window...what glue will re-attach that to the fabric? On my '97 328i the trim is separating right where flex is and now loosening beyond that? Any suggestions? vendors? Thanks!!

emiata window works well. I put one in my 325ic. It took about and hour to do.
