I just recently replaced the top on my 1994 325 convert. Is there a specific procedure to active or engage the top after it has been installed? The boot cover motor activates but the top does not move when it is supposed to. Any ideas would be great.

thats a real tough question, with the lack of experience on this forum with convertables, my honest opinion is to maybe seek pro help. also did you try reverse? it could have been wired backwards when you put it together.

ps welcome to BMW-forums

the only thing that comes to mind is that the wiring may need a second inspection, it shouldn't need any kind of activation to engage. did you take out the motor to the top when you replaced it?

There is some process to "reset" the convertible top once it has been manually adjusted...its in my Bentley which is at home...

If anyone has one handy...

I would say that I will look when I get home, but when I say that I always forget...
