Convertible top problem

E36, 320i convertible

Yesterday, while working on the car I managed to get the hood stuck. Did the normal thing and popped the motor back into position and now the hood works fine again, but the cover (the plastic thing that covers the hood when folded) seems disconnected to the motor. I found the wire pull cables and sortof understand how the system works, but I can't seem to get the problem fixed. I can move the cover manually, so I am now stuck with a half manual, half electric system.

Anybody any suggestions for that?

Mathijs

There are two motors in there. One for the top and one for the hood.

How did you get in to the cables?
Am trying to check the cables on my manual top storage. . .sevice manual no help. Looks like I need to remove leather trim panel in the back seat, left side. Can I just pull it off without breaking anything?

Most of the cables and levers can be seen if you remove the carper covering of the boot (trunk), feel on the backside of the metal supports on the left side for the second motor. Yours is manual, but I guess there is something hidden there as well.
