convertible problem

hi everyone. have a 95 318i with manual top. When pulling the lever to open storage boot, passenger side unlocks but drivers side doesn't. When I try to pull it up, there is clicking in the trunk and drivers door. Anyone know how I can get the boot cover open? thanks so much. btw....love the forum.

Remove rear seats, and driver 1/4 panel. gain access to cable and pull. If that doesn't work, release with long thin screwdriver. The cables have an adjustment. Lossen cable nut on inside of lid. There is a microswitch on passenger latch. It can be disconnedted inside trunk (driverside under carpet. There is a safety latch on driverside of lid.I recently replaced all three cables and latch with microswitch.

what are you trying to pull up? The release catch is on teh passenger side under the storage box, lift with finger and the whole thing should pop up
