Convertible Motor

ok i got a 1994 325i and its convertible but its starting to slow down alot sometimes to where it stops and i have to give it a lil push. my question is can i get a new motor and how much would that run me and is it easy to install? or should i convert it to a manual convertible and is that east and how much would it cost?

you could get a new motor. it would cost around 3k-5k for a 2.5 litre. depends on what you mean by easy install. if you are mechanically challenged you can do it yourself.get a bentley manual, label all the hoses and wires you take out, get a cherry picker and .......etc. if you want to convert to a manual, you would have to get 5spd tranny and every other assessory with it. none of this is easy stuff. you dont sound like you know what youre doing so, my advice is to bring your car to a shop and find out whats making your car slow down alot and fix it.

sorry bout that i ment a new motor for the convertible top not like a complete engine haha sorry bout the confusion

yeah you can get a new motor for the convertible top, look up the price at realoem.com. go to a bmw parts dealer. not sure about manual

I just had this done. Think it was 700 or so at the dealer. And now? it doesn't drop the top in anymore

thats alot maybe i will just keep the motors right now it may be slow but i believe its better then 700 dolors
