325i is an unknown quantity at this point

I have a 325 i 1994 bmw.when i start the car the computer would do a check on the engine and return the message check control ok.Now it does not cycle to this message when i start car up???If i hit the check button it will display this message.Has any1 experienced this.Also I was wondering when u hit the speed button the display gives you the current speed.should the speed value keep up with the actual speed being displayed by needle??ie when u accelerate from 50 to 60 should the digital display change concurrectly in real time...Thanks[size=7]

mine never comes up as check control ok when i start my car it only says so if i hit the button. as for the speed reading, its very common for them to be off.
