| Constantly varying performance
Good day.
I recently baught a 1996 318is Auto for my wife, but is experiencing the following problem when either eccelarating or just normal driving.
The engin performs in a constantly varying manner in cycles of between 5 and 9 seconds. It either pulls great or performs lik a 1400 cc engine. The fuel consumption needle constantly drifts back an forth, corrresponding to these good and and poor engine performances. This does not happen when I fully step on the excellerator, say when driving on the highway, or when idling.
I did replace the rubber duct between te MAF and throttle body, thinking that this minght be leaking air in, but no change in the situation.
