computer problem

I drive a 98 E36coupe. my onboard comp gives me the indication that my tail light(s) is/are malfunctioning...but when i check..they are fine. every now and then the comp would give me that indication...anyone else with this prob? any suggestions? TIA

very comonm problem with the e36. u can find intructions for the fix online very easily. basically u need to open up the panel above the pedals /under the dash, buy a brake light switch and change it for the old one.

I know you responded a long time ago with this problem, but I have the same problem with my e46 coupe 2000. Do you think it will be the same fix. I replaced 3 bulbs that were corroded, but my warning lights stay on still. Occasionally they go out after driving for a while.
Any help on this one would be good....
