Compare: 328 vs 528 - BMW Forum

What is the difference between a 328 and a 528? Is the 528 really that bigger? Is the weight very different? Performance wise are you better off with a 328?

Ive looked through google it doesn't give much information, plus who better to ask then people who know these cars? Would you ask a chef to rebuild your engine?

528's are nice, I got a ride in superdeadmans before.

528 is more luxurious, a bit heavier, larger vehicle.

328 a bit more sporty, tad smaller and lighter.

Would you be getting a manual transmission, and/or planning to drive it spiritedly?

You didnt look very hard, seeing as their curb weights are listed in the description of the first search result that comes up.

Their gearing is roughly the same, so the weight is the main factor.

They're both fun, go test drive both, whatever fits you better is the car for you.

I have an '01 325, and it is sooo much fun to drive, but a larger car would be nice. I have driven an '02 525, and it's handling was disappointing to say the least, so if you want a larger size but all the fun, go for an older M5, which is what I am now looking for. Or buy the 5'er and adjust the suspension.

congrats!
but should have waited on the right 5-er
i got M package on mine and it's a BEAST!!!

handles better than a lot of cars on the road (i can easily go 120 into 55mph turn with the stock suspension and not even fear for losing control)

it actually handles better than my buddy's firebird (yeah, i know - a boat) with about 3 or 4k in suspension parts!!!
