Compact Upgrades

[316iCOMPACT]

I have a 1999 316i compact and i was wondering how i could make faster.
I was told a power boost valve would do the trick, has anyone any comments on this.
I was also going to put in a k&n filter and put on a performance exaust.

Can anyone tell me if doing all this will work and any more ideas would be appreciated as my experience is limited.

Best I could tell you to do with my limited knowledge of the 316i (I am state side so I've never even seen a 316i), would be to do a diff swap. You have the same rear end as an E30, so all of the E30 diffs are fair game for you. Pick the one with the highest ratio that will still allow you to reach the speeds that you need for your day to day activities. Besides that not a whole lot will make a difference.
