Sorry if this thread is in the wrong section but i'm new here.
I have a Compact 318ti sport, 1995 'M'.
Lately every time I pull away in first gear the car really badly jerks as if i let the clutch out really too quick, if i accelerate it jerks REAL bad. When i change gear to 2nd onwards it fine. Any suggestions on what it might be would be aprreciated.
Just changed out the flex disc in my 92 325i Made the same noise you are describing. Flex disc on the bimmer, is what some would call a universal joint on other cars, is made different but serves the same purpose. Connects the transmission yolk to the drive shaft yolk. On the 92 325i it is a major pain in the butt to change. ie: exhaust and sheilds have to be moved!!
