Code 1211 - DME, wtf?

Ok, I was able to pull the codes on my 94 318is.
It never did flash the ending code 1444.
I was able to get a 1211 and found it to be related to the DME.

Anyone know what the code could mean?
The car runs idles and drives decent for how many miles it has.

Is it time to replace the DME?
What the hell is it and where is it located?
All I can gather is it monitors the fuel injection/o2 levels.

clear the code and see if it comes back, it could have been because you had the other fault code. when the car gets a fault , sometimes that fault trips other faults, i suggest clearing all codes and wait untill the CE light comes on than see what the exact problem is. if it gives you that fault again.

if your cars running that cant be right... im with furious, i have a feeling that one fault lead to another and tripped it all the way back to the dme... un plug your battery for a little while then re connect it and wait for the ce light to come back again... then run the codes...
