Clutch replacement, need to replace the flywheel too!?

Hey!

So for the last few days my cars clutch has slowly been dying. It makes a noise whenever it's held in and squeels between gear changes. My mechanic said that it will maybe last another week and that the flywheel usually needs replacing too!?

Is this true? If so, is it worth getting oem parts, they are rather expensive.

I have read the article on changing the clutch from pelican parts but it seems a bit too much for one weekends work.

You should be able to change a clutch in weekend, as long as you have all the gear and a lift is normally easier, but I have done them on ramps or axle stands, as for the flywheel I have never changed one when changing the clutch.

If you don't slip the clutch too much and get the FW too hot it should be OK to reuse.
