OK here's the deal the clutch on my ti feels like it is slipping sometimes when I take off but not at others.... is there an adjustment I can make to it or something or do I just need an new one??
Well that sounds like the beginning of clutch breakage...I was in the same boat with you at around the same mileage. I have a 98 318ti and right around 67-68K miles my clutch started slipping, rarely at first, but eventually more often. I dont know what to say to you since it only happens in first, cause it only happened in 5th for me at the start, then made its way down to 2nd and 3rd. You can ride it out for quite a while, my problem was bad b/c the throwout bearing went out and shit was rattling around and sounded horrible.
Look to spend around 800-1000 at the dealership. MIne was $1026 only because of the throwout bearing issue
i had the same problem. only happened in first gear every so often and it started becoming more and more noticeable. finally took it in and my clutch was pretty much done and i had to get a new one.
