Unhappy Clinking noise / Tire wear problem

I'm having 2 problems at the moment but I'm unsure if they're related at all.

I've got really bad tire wear on the inner part of my passenger rear tire. All the other tires are wearing evenly. My tracking was done about 6 months ago (4 wheel allignment). I've checked the pressure and thats fine, but does anyone know what this could be? i was told it could be rear tracking but then both rear tires would wear the same (which is not the case). My car is lowered too, if that makes any difference.

They other problem i'm getting is everytime I go over a bump in the road I get a clinking noise coming from underneath the rear of my car. At first I thought it was just my heat shield knocking against something, but i've checkied it and its all fine. You can only really hear it with the windows down but its quite loud.

Can anyone please help me? I've taken the car to 3 different garages this morning and none could help.

I don't know what to say on the tire wear issue, but have you checked the rear upper shock mount/strut mount (whichever applies, i don't really know e36's). It almost sounds like your strut/shock is topping out on the upper mount.

thanks for your reply.

I had a look at it yesterday but couldn't see anything wrong.

What do you mean by topping out on the upper mount?

On the e30's, they had an original rubber bushing that over time went to hell. IF the e36 is similar, and that bushing is gone, the top of the strut would bang against the upper plate.
