Climate Control Unit

My climate control unit, is the one with the knobs, not the digital one..

And it currently sits under my cd player..

I have a digital climate control unit from a e36 318i that took that option, same year model...

First is it possible "i mean possible"
to swap them??

secondly if its not..
is it possible to move down the climate control unit down the the double bay below where the cd deck is, so i can put in my lcd screen??

I had the same question as you a few months back..when I wanted to install the AVIC N1 LCD unit onto my dash.

1. You can do the climate control swap...there is no DIY I have ever seen, but someone told me it can be done.

2. You can move stuff around on your dash frame. But you may have to re-cut and re-frame the dash plastic and that is risque in terms of maintaining that fresh BMW look. Again I have yet to see a DIY for this.

But all these can be done.

woot made me happier..
I'll remove the whole console out this weekend and check out the wiring, and see what i can tell..
I am not to good with engines and mechanics "improving quickly"
but electrical im not bad at "ex technician"

so we shall see how it goes...

i might even write my own DIY
