its starting to get cold and i just bought a bimmer. when i turn the heat on, it doesn't come out of the front dash vents, just the defrost. this is no good. how do you get the hot air to really come out of the vents like the AC does? kind of a stupid question, but i really am stumped. thanks

My car have exactly same problem. I could not get any heat come out of front dash vents, all I felt is cold air, but if I rotate the selection knob to defrog vent or floor vent I got heat.

That is because right under the front vents (in the middle) there is a selector wheel with red and blue dots on it. It's a selector for cold/hot aire specifically for the front middle vents... if you turn it to red, it will only let the hot air through, the opposite for blue.....

this should work.
