| I don't know how many of you have had problems with the digital climate control unit in post 1996 E36 BMW's. This is my first post and the reason I am writing is to warn any of you who have a bad climate control unit.
If you decide to have your CC unit fixed at the dealership you will end-up paying approx $400 dollars to get a "new" unit. In reality you are getting a refurbished unit, and must pay another $135 to have it converted from Celsius to Fahrenheit (the $135 is for one hour labor to hook the unit up to a machine and press a few buttons).
I found a guy on E-Bay who said he would fix my CC unit for $100, and stated that turn-around time for repair was approximately three days. So I sent it to him and didn't hear back for two months. I sent over ten emails, asking him where my CC unit was, and he never responded. After contacting the U.S. Postal Inspectors (they investigate mail fraud) I finally heard back from him and he sent it out within the next three days, after I had already purchases another unit off of E-Bay for $200. It was the middle of July in California, (VERY HOT) I coldn't go any longer without AC, and figured my CC Unit was gone forever.
The reason I am writing is because this guy is a fraud and I don't want anyone else to get burned by this crook. His name is Phil Marques, and his so called company is speedmarx autos based out of Blaine Washington. DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY he will burn you. I sent Phil numerous emails, requested that he send me a refund for the $100 that I gave him, and still have not heard back from him. |
