Nope, not the exact same thing. Been there done that, the fit sucks, they leak in water and fog, and few people on this site say they pop out at high speeds for no apparent reason.
Buy oem, buy from bavauto, it's a Bimmer, spend a few bucks on it.
the ones from bavauto fit PERFECT and are SO easy to do! you pull back the inner wheel well get a hand up there and just pop it out from the back, I did my side markers and parking lights in prob 15min not kidding. and there really cool about exchanges or problems, see below http://www.bmw-forums.com/forum/topic19579.html
I just got mine in, any tips or tricks to installing them? It looks pretty straight forward, I noticed my old ones seems pretty stuck though. Should I loosen the seal with a razor blade?
Dont take a razor blade to 'em, you'd kick your self if you slipped, then you would have a nice little gash on your car. The side markers are just clipped on and you have to unclip them.. put your hand on the end closest to the door and push forward towards the front of the car, that should unclip them, once you have that done it takes about 5sec. to attach them.

definitely worth spendin a few extra dollars and getting it from www.bavauto.com .. i've gotten all my lights from them and if i ever have problems they immediately send me a replacement. awesome customer service and no hassle if it comes to something wrong
i do have one question if someone reads this who has sidemarkers from bavauto... for some reason my sidemarkers "fog up" or get "moist" inside ONLY after i wash my car (assuming that it does it because if the pressure from the hose) .. i dont know if this is NORMAL? or if i should bother getting a replacement? anyone know if i get a replacement if it'll stop "fogging" up after washing the car?
