Chips...

I know this has probably been asked and disscussed before, but what do people have for performance chips/software upgrades? Ive looked at JET, Bavauto's own tuner, and Dinan. Which one should I go for? Anyone really bad or really good? My car is a 97 328i 5-speed sedan. its OBDII. Do the cheap ebay ones work?

all of your imput would be excellent!

many people on this forum will support the jim conforti shark injector which you can get from turner or understeer.com, plus with the conforti one you can have them reprogram it if you ever install cams and other mods in the future. Plus, it's a lot cheaper than Dinan and i've never heard of JET. Never get a chip from ebay imo, they can easily scam you by sending you fake chips that don't do anything.

I just looked at the autowerks website and I did not see a chip for the 2.8L engine. The shark injector does look just like the bav auto one though.

Being OBD II, you don't change chips. You download software. Active has designed programs for people before, don't know the expense. Shark injector from Turner Motorsports or www.sharked.com probably the best.

+1 for the jim conforti chips

not sure if they make anything for OBDII tho, but if they do i'd expect great things! evidentally they make the shark injector kit, turner motorsports is definitly a trustworthy company, great products!
