hey, i was just wondering if an 92-95 325 (obd1) chipped with and intake would provide better hp and tq gains then a 96-98 328 which was also chipped with an intake?
thanks,
-eric-
im wondering because since i had the accident i dont have enough money to get another 328 so im thinking about getting an obd1 325 and upgrading it somewhat.

well from what i have heard, i'm not really a expert at all, but 328s don't respond well to mods while the 325s do, but 325 with intake and chip probably would just be to close to call with a 328,
I want another 328 but i probably wont have enough money by march get a good one so i may just get a good 325 for 6500 or so and use what ever money i have left to slap on an intake n chip...maybe even an exhaust but doubt it.
You can't chip 328's btw, they use OBDII's, you can shark them, but sharking provides only minimal HP gains, and its all circumstantial, nothing proven. Only thing guaranteed by sharking is rev limiter raised and top speed gov deleted.
They 328 will still beat the 325, even if the 328 was stock and the 325 was chipped and had an intake.
try to get one made in germany if you can.......somehow mine was shipped over here to the states. I can't put a chip on it/ its already got one i guess/ my rev limiter is over 7K, and I have no top speed limiter. Guess I got lucky. Didn't even know it until I bought it, the guy was like yeah, I imported it so be good to her.

AMG can't build an NA engine that can compete with M engines, so they stick in a supercharger and say their cars are faster. BMW could simply do the same, but they don't out of principle.</span>
Might as well save up that extra bucks for a nice manual 328, since you'll end up spending extra on the 325 just to bring it up to par with a stock 328.
the 328 has an intake manifold that starves the engine for air at higher RPM's. i think if u modded the 325, it would be faster. the 325 has the proper intake and does not starve in the 6000RPM range.
just because its bigger.....doesnt mean its faster. there are way too many variables involved anyway.
go w/the obd1.
