I am kinda new at this forum thing and i just picked up my first bmw saturday night. I am only 16 but i am well educated in the automotive field...dad's a mechanic. Any way i bought a 95' 325i (yes i know my username is misleading) and the CEL is on. The previous owners were complete morons and the car just needs sum TLC!! Today i brought it up to a shop in becker and we did a lot of stuff. Including new plugs, new synthetic oil, brand new tires, new battery, new oil filter, (getting rotors monday) and also gave it an alignment. 1000$ after all that. This is very puzzling to me cuz after all this happened the cars CEL was off and then when i hit about 3000rpm it comes on. Then while im coasting, itll come off...its weird. I as just wondering if you guys could shed some light upon the situtaion. It does have an aftermarket exhaust that just screams so it could be the 02 sensor??
