check engine light - BMW Forum

Alright, I have gotten the check engine light before checked the code, and it gave me the 1423 code from what I can remember and all it was a gas cap. I have also heard of some secondary air thing that is under the hood on the left side. Well now since we have got the exhaust, remus, i get it reset and it comes back in a few days. SO my question is, could it be the exhuast or the secondary air thing. My car is 99 323is. People with the same car and set up, their opinions would be good.

I still have that same problem, so interested in the solution as well. I've never heard of this "secondary air thing" tho???
