the code says it is a malfuntion in the electrical circuit for the camshaft position sensor( it says "bank 1 identifies the location of Cylinder #1)
now..if it keeps turning off and on..what could that be here were the "possiblities"
1. cam sensor defective
2. connector/wiring defective
3. Engine running condition- timing belt out of time
now i am kind of hearing a noise coming from my engine and so maybe the belt is off somewhat? my idle is speratic and i don't want to see this check engine light anymore lol. any suggestions before i take it to the dealership? anyone else have this problem |
I have a 98 323is m52, well it was thowing the same code p0340 and p1519 which are codes for camshaft p sensor, of course you new that already, well if you know someone who works for bmw buy the part threw them. Quoted without the friend $143, with the friend $67. Cant beat that. Do the work yourself, hopefully you have small hands or one of your friends do...

. It will take you about an hour.... I changed mine on saturday...
