Check Control Module?

I have seen some rear lights for my M reg 316 coupe with clear indicators in. The place has 2 types for sale, the lights themselves are the same however in the description it states on one "For Models without check control Module." and the other "For Models with check control Module"

Can anyone help me out on what this is and how to find out which lights I need.
The price differs by £10 the cheaper ones being for models with check control module

This is a guess. And only a guess. Do you have the OBC? The On Board Computer? You know, the one that tells the temp, MPG, miles to go, lights out, etc.,that sort of thing? If you do, I would think you would have a "check control module. If you don't, probably wouldn't have a need for a check control module. This is only a guess.
