Check Brake Light Circuit?

Just noticed my computer was flashing "Check Brake Light Circuit" tonight... but my brake lights work and everything? Don't really understand. If anyone could enlighten me that would be wonderful! Thanks

Mine does that from time to time, and then goes away. I believe it's the brake light switch located at the brake pedal that needs to be replaced.

yes, tomctx is correct. that message displays if the brake light switch is failing or failed. it is just under the dash near the brake pedal.

Pelicanparts has a DIY on their site with pictures. I'm a pretty big guy and was able to do it, but it sure sucked. Be sure to get the right switch. If you have cruise control then you need the 4 prong one, if not, then just 2 prong. You'll have to break out the old one. Very easy to do technically, just a pain in the neck--literally.
