changing the hood shocks

I bought new hood-holder-upper shocks for my M3, but I can't work out how to disconnect the old ones from the hinges. The fasteners don't seem to be screws. Anybody have any input?

I think you need someone to take all the weight off of them. And then you should be able to just snap them off. There are no special instructions in the Bentley. Every one I have replaced just snapped off, no pins, no screws, but the weight must be off them.

yeah , if you need use someone to hold the hood, if you dont wanna "employee" someone you can always prop the hood up with a long enough and solid enough stick or broom handle
also i kinda forget but they might have pins in them that might need to be slid out to actualy pop them off.
