changing front shocks need HELP!

hi guys! i'm new to this you might be able to help... i'm changing my front shocks with SACHS touring, besides the dampers and shocks whatelse do i have to change when i do this procedure? like do i have to change the front shock mounts as well? i already did the rear and changed the dampers, shocks and shock mounts. thanks! ghead

Answering your question: replace the front shock mounts, because they can wear out....

I would recommend to change some other parts as well. When I changed my suspension, the parts that I am about to mention were in pretty bad shape and I swapped all of them for new parts. They are not overly expensive, even if you buy from the dealer.
I have attached a schematic view of the front e36 suspension setup.
I changed 1,8,9,11 and 12. As far as I remember some of them come as kit.

Since you already changed the rears you conqurered the biggest piece of work the fronts are much easier to swap

Check the faq section I just did a write up about changing all of the struts (front and back). It's not too bad, it'll prolly take a couple hours if your've never done it before. Good luck with it, if you need any help or have questions after reading the FAQ then feel free to PM me.

dutchbmw: my car is quite close to that... except that i changed the front and rear tail lights to white ones instead of the amber. thanks for the info on the suspension. i was thinking of doing it myself, i mean changing it but its quite scary i might break something or lose a screw! it costs too much to have it changed from bmw. anyway here's a pic of my car
