Changing Fog Light Bulb

one of my fog lights is burnt out so i bought a new bulb and i cant figure out how to change them! i bought new bulbs and replaced both headlights with no problem and i figured the fog lights would be very similar to remove and replace but ... they seem to be different and i cant get the old bulb out (and therefore i cant get the new bulb in). the car is a 1995 or 1996 318i

whats the deal?

keep in mind i know very little about cars in general and even less about car maintenance. thanks for your help.

on the sides of the foglight.. there is a little space... sorta where the lower grill is... u have to, (with a screwdriver) pry out the foglights from its braket.. then its pretty much self explanitory..

i was trying to pull the bulb out from the backside and it just wasnt working out

so i got my light out and changed the bulb without a problem

still doesnt work. bulb wasnt even blown, apparently.

what could be the problem? the opposite fog light works fine

You're not the first person who I've heard with this problem. Check the wiring from the bulb to the firewall. It may sound silly, but check the connections and make sure they are snug and not weathered to a point that they do not carry current. Most likely the wire has been damaged and needs mending. If there is no physical explanation then you may have a problem with your LCM (Lighting Control Module - I am not positive that the E36 is equipped with this). Occasionally this will create problems like one side is not powered.
