central locking control unit

could anyone please tell me where the central locking control unit is on a 316?

It's located just behind the glove box.

is there anything on the unit that gives it away, i looked behind the glove box and there were a good few different units

Here's a diagram of the junk behind the glove box. The one marked A104 is the central locking brain and it's the one the alarm would plug into.



A104 is the central locking box...

all my units bar one are vertically clipped in not horizontally as shown in the picture

Behind the glove box do you see something like this? This is from a '95 318....


The central locking harness is right there in the middle of the pic...







The central locking control module is what the plug with all the wires is plugged into.... the alarm plug is open just below it.

its a 1995 316 compact, i only got 1 horizontal unit, all the rest are vertical, but now i know what it looks like im sure i'll be able to find it, but it'd be most likely be behind the glove box and not above the drivers feet?

Yes, it's still there behind the glovebox. Should look very similiar to the photos.

hi what wires do i connect a aftermarket alarm to on the central locking module to get the doors to lock and unlock of the alarm .and are they negative or positive trigger i have a 94 325i it doesent have the factory alarm plug can anyone help:

Get an BMW alarm module and its associated items as the wiring should be there already !!!
