Centeral locking issue

hey guys and gals!

I would like to know how to get the door frame off the inside so i can try and see why my centeral locking is not working on my drivers side door!

I have a std e36 1995 318i euro rhd spec...

Also does anybody know what could be at fault? Every other door works locks and unlocks via the centeral locking apart from the drivers side door.

Any advice would be great thanks!

try locking and unlocking central lock from the trunk.

YES, it now works? - the microswitch at the driver's door gone bad.

NO, it still doesn't work? - it is the door lock actuator that is at fault

I have to manualy unlock the trunk as that requires a key so that wouldn't be possible. I also tried to take the door card off but i am having trouble, As far as i can see i have popped out all the edges but i can't see what else needs to be done before i can remove it.. I see 2 screws that require a star key but that doesn't look like thats holding it on. Does anyone have any pics on how to remove this? i have a saloon.

Hi there ... I have the same problem. I have to unlock the boot 1st then the drivers door will lock.

Yea Mate if you undo the two star bolts in behind the door pull handle the panel will come away from the door
