I have taken out my rear console completely and there is no way I can fit the armrest with my current rear console. Do I have to buy a rear console that came out of a 328 ? Are they the same consoles exactly as the 325's? Please any help would be great... I don't want to think I bought this for nothing...
I don't understand exactly what you are saying here...I have a 96 318i and it DOES have an armrest in the center console...and it looks exactly like the one you bought. However...I don't know if you are talking about the center console armrest or the rear seat armrest (which my 96 318i ALSO DOES have) cause you mentioned rear a few times, so I'm kinda confused by what you are saying... used
Care to make this a little more clear and maybe I or someone else can help you out???? Goodluck bro...

Yup, sorry about that, I meant the console area where the cup holders and the ash trays are, for the front seat. I took the whole console out and looked under it and there is no way I can fit the armrest to my current console, I think it requires another console, I know the consoles for the M3's, 328's, and 318's look the same but they're not... meh, I guess I'm out of luck, heh gotta accept the fact it won't fit. I'm wondering if I can find another entire console, that's black that has an armrest? That'd be hard to find, oh well. Any ideas or answers you guys got would be great.
Very weird...I wonder why it wouldn't fit. these cars are usually all the same with the exception of the engine and suspensions. I did notice you bought the "M3" console off ebay. it seems that M3s are the exception to everything and are always different
fuck it, just throw it back on ebay and perhaps you will get more money than what you paid for it. Your car never came with an armrest to begin with? Do you have a lower package or something like that?

You need a new center console. The stock non armrest one will not work for an armrest.
Yeah Jim, that does make sense...Another thing that BMWs do seem to be those kind of cars which you have to replace EVERYTHING as opposed to being able to simply add things...
