cat converter?

Is it worth to cut out cat converter ? will i get extra power? I have plans to install chip, maybe it will work better with lower resistance exhaust? Ive heard that sotck engine will lose some power after removing the cat.Is it true? What about sound?

your car may not pass emmissions without a cat. cut out the resonator and replace that with a straight pipe

as far as i know...if you dont have the cat converter....u wont pass inspection....well thats how it is in New York atleast......also straight pipes are illegal here cuz od the amount of noise....it does sound sweet as hell though....its cool to go with the cat back ehaust system...thats what i'm going for...not sure which though....any suggestions?

i'm in lithuania and i will pass emmision inspection without cat I only need to know will I get extra horsepower after doing that and will the sound be much louder ? I don't like to much sound - I have enough of it with bosal rear muffler

a free flowing exhaust will give you more hp than nothing at all, you still need some back pressure. i'd say just get a resonator and you'll be set

i think the resonator is to cloud the noise so it isnt as loud......but then again...i'm a virgin to the car scene....so dont quote me on that
