Carsmells Like Gas

I have a 97 318ti. For quite a while the inside of the car has had a strong odor of gas. I'm guessing that it's a bad seal on the fuel pump or something.

Has anyone else had this problem? Did a new o-ring seal fix the problem?

I'm not very mechanically inclined, so thats why i havent just gone in and checked it out...I want to make sure this should fix it before i start disassembling my bimmer.

There's a seal for the top of the fuel pump that gets leaking and causes the smell, most of the time, on the e36.

Haven't had this problem yet but I suspect it's coming and it can't be that hard to fix. Just grab a manual and go for it.
