those of you that have them or those that know where to get them, what are some good sites for them? i would really like to look into this down the road for my new car if/when i get it!
The only nice way to pull off a cf hood is i a blakc BMW.f you have
A friend of mine has a e36 black and got a cf hood about a year ago. He actually pulled it off by painting the outer two thirds. You know the groove where the center is raised on your BMW hood, he left this cf color. So from all angles you really weren't sure whether or not he had a cf hood but the texture looked ncie./ Get a nice looking texture too. nothing with big threads or that looks blatantly obvious.

It looks like shit almost 100% of the time (it'll look bad with a red car, guaranteed) and doesn't really save enough weight to merit the cost. Don't waste your money.
that is why it wont be going on my red car.... itll be going on my white car i hope to be getting soon!.... i have a few pics that i gotta find for you of white cars with heavy tint black rims (which my car has... well not the tint yet) with CF hood and it looks good... dont get me wrong itll be a last thing i do, i got way more performance things first... just thinking ahead....
if you are going for looks go for looks. ya the weight savings is alright but for around $400 or however much they cost. 400 $$ for 30 lbs shaved off the car at the most is kinda over the top IMO. there is a battery out there that weighs 14 or 16lbs compared to however the stock batter weighs...and it only costs $100. if you are looking for weight savings do that before you drop a couple hundred on a hood. just a tip .... i know there is a company that runs out of ebay , i think its VIS or something...thats all i have really looked into later
technically carbon fiber has higher coefficient of emmisivity...this means if ur car is about to travel long, racing purposes, etc... carbon fiber will transfer the heat faster so ur car will stay up... another reason is carbon fiber is leight and strong...
