Car Won't Start Starter Relay Suspected

Heyy guys, I have a big problem with starting my car. The problem that I try to start my car and all I hear is one click from the starter. I know that most of you will say that is the starter, but that ain't it because it has already been changed and both of them (old and new) were working fine. The battery is not either because I just bought an Optima battery about 2 weeks ago. This problem has happened to me before but the car (seems to have a mind of its own) has started again like nothing happened. then it works fine for a while and then it happens again(doesn't want to start). This time the car seemd not to like me and for 2 weeks straight it doesn't want to start.

I tried to change the Starter Relay which I suspect to be the culprit but could not find it. It's supposed to be on the left hand side of the dash but is not there. I found a similar one but is the Crash-alarm relay. Can anyone help locate the starter relay or help me think as to what the problem could be?.

In the past, I've read posting similar to yours, the person finally ended up fixing it by replacing either the Camshaft sensor or the Crankshaft sensor. Sorry, I can't be specific which one of those 2 sensors. The symptoms were car will start flawlessly some times and then sometimes it just doesn't.

sorry this is late - but if you are still having trouble - there is a "neutral safety switch" that could be problematic. Did you try starting the car in N instead of P (obviously this only applies if you have an auto)

THank you all for your replies, what happened with my car was there were some cables loose on the starter. My car is a 5 speed so the neutral safety switch was not the issue and neither was the relay. I feel like a jackass for not looking there first. I thank you all for your help and from the looks of it, it won't be the last time either.

The starter relay is only fitted to cars with auto gearboxes
