So my gf goes to drive the bmw to go to her fam's and was letting it warm up for a sec when it died. Now it won't start, has spart has fuel just no go. WTF???
I tried to read the blink codes but can't reset the ecu, any other thoughts, going to have to take it to the dealer I guess.
vacuum leak, mass air meter, cam sensor, cat. converter... and unfortunately a possibility of a fried DME (ECU)

If you can't start the car and can't reset the ECU, maybe your alternator is dead? Check all the belts too and make sure the alternator belt is still there. If the alternator is working properly, check the battery level with a volt meter.
Also, on OBD1, usually when the car flashes out the codes, rarely is it even correct as to what the problem is.

The alternator/battery aren't dead. If while the car was running it died and it was because the alternator died which then killed the batter then how could he have fuel and spark??? Obviously the car is turning over but not starting.

Yeah sorry I didn't catch that part about the fuel and spark. The sentance was quite vague

also is your oil pump and all that working properly, or when u try to start it does it make a click sound or does it actually turn over try and make sure the ecu andisn't messed up also check to make sure the o2 sensor isn't screwed up also
Allrightythen, just to clear a few things up, I said I can't reset the ecu cause I left the bat unplugged and pluged it back in, so yes I can reset it, but no it doesn't do any good.
I looked inside and didn't see a mouse.
Yes it has a security system but I am not 100% sure what kind as it came on it with the car. But when it died it was just ideling and hasn't started sence.
Fuel injectors are spraying fuel, the coil's are fireing a spark, its actualy cranking over, the only thing I can think of is that it has to be either the ecu, some wireing got ate by a mouse or the timming has gone to shit and I duno how to fix it.
So to the dealer it goes. Cause I can't tear my VR-4 apart to upgrade my turbos and install my fmic till the bmw runs
