Car Revs up and down.

Hey all, Can someone help me please? I have a 1998 323is with 100,000 or more miles on it. To explain, I will tell you how my day starts. I get in the car turn it on and it revs up and down on idle. Drive to work, as i excellerate it gives a slight jerk. Not neccesserely when the car shifts gears but i can fell a little constant jerk. Then I get out and I here this shh shh shh sound coming from the engine. Sometimes the car acts normal but it is always garunteed to do it again. So now it is getting worse. I can fix it I just don't know what I am fixing yet. Sorry for the misspelled words, Google chromes spell check suck!

Have you looked in the engine bay for loose tubes etc?

x2 vaccuum leak for sure.

Probably between the air box and throttle body.

yeahh they got it spray starting fluid around the hoses if the car stalls or revs up when you hit a spot theres you leak i did have an old benz that did that because of bad timing but yeah deff try checking for a leak good luck

try taking the big cover off on top of the injectors and fuel rail its only 2 10 mil bolts. look to see if their is a 13mil hose which has failed. if not start the car up and see if the oil cap is hard to get off if it is the breather valve has failed, pain in the arse to fit a new if its easy to get off. take it to a specailist with an auto logic and it will give you more info
