Car hesitating

I was getting on my car hard tonight and I noticed at full throttle when it gets to about 5000-5500 it seems to hesitate like it cuts out just a tad. Any ideas on what it is?

maybe it's the ECU kicking in with the electronic speed limiter and preventing you from over revving
that's what happens if you have a stock chip

if it is an M52 that is normal. power drops a bit up there. change you intake manifold to a M50 manifold if you wanna shift your powerband upward.

but, you might just have a dirty fuel filter or old plugs. it is hard to diagnose when we don't know what model/year car you have.

Manifold, so the manifold of a M50 is that much better? How hard is the install?

check out http://www.understeer.com/onlinestore-engine.shtml
and scroll down to
"Eurosport High Performance E36 2.8L & 3.2L M50 Intake Manifold Conversion Kit"

I'm not sure the work involved, but considering what you are doing, it must be quite substantial, and not to mention expensive! (300 for the manifold and another 300 for the kit/or parts)

Can anyone vouch for this installed on a 2.5L?
