Cannot shift into gears 318i

Hello. I have 1992 318i with Manual Tranny. I had to leave the car for about 3 monthes.
after I came back I started the engine and tried to shift into 1st gear but without luck, I tried all gears including reverse but it didn't shift niether.
It only can shift when the engine is off.
I tried to shift into the 1st gear, press the clutch pedal and then turn on the engine and the car moved like the clutch pedal is not pressed.
can anyone help me plzzzzzzzz

^LOL naww it has to be there because it isn't releasing.... sounds like check the Clutch fluid level.... sounds like it leaked down.... check and add fluid if needed then pump the clutch a whole bunch then try again....any puddle under the car(even small one?)

Sounds like you need a clutch master and slave cylinder... not a terribly difficult problem to fix... that said... not a terribly easy one either! When one or the other goes out you won't be able to disengage the clutch from the flywheel... if either one goes bad... the other will be right behind it... replace them both or be sorry. Try autohausaz.com for parts.

the car was parked over sand so I couldnt be able to notice any puddle but maybe there is a leak.
I really dont know how to check the clutch fluid level. any diagram or photo will be appreciated.
I'll try the fluid solution before trying to replace the cylinders.
