Question Can you put other than BMW batteries in E36?

I think my 1994 325i needs a new battery.

My friend who owns a newer model BMW was told by a "battery expert" at AAA that he should buy a BMW battery because non-BMW batteries will not last long in his car. Is this BS?

Thanks for any advice,

Don't know about your friends car, but normal DIN (Euro) batteries are fine in an E36. Since BMW don't make batteries themselves, they must use a rebadged unit from another manufacturer anyway.

Very good answer David...
YES you can use other batteries... Just match the "Cranking Amps" and make sure the terminals match too !!

Eso es todo!
