Can you please make me seem like a genius?

Well genius may be a bit too much to ask! Anyway I have this friend who recently got a 94 325i (maybe a 95?) which seems to have been plagued with issues! So here is the latest.... He rinsed off the engine because there is oil leaking from somewhere, hoping to find where the oil is coming from. He never did. However his car sounds like crap now, it's doesn't want to accelerate like before and when he does it is really loud. I figure there is water somewhere....so what should I reccomend he do?

Dry it out. Especially the spark plug holes and the ECU. They are both known to get water in them if you are not careful.

hmm...i was about to do the same thing to my engine.

i have to replace my valve cover gasket. i have oil all over my headers.

I would avoid rinsing the engine.

hmmm....what do you recommend for cleaning spilled / leaked oil from off the headers and other components?

I've never done this, but maybe a careful wipe down with degreaser?

I use simple green and a hose.... you have to let the simplegreen soak and scrub heavy deposits I usually do it with the engine warm(if your gonna scrub turn off the engine)
