Can I swap a rebuilt DME-does it need programming?

kylejsutin n00b Join Date: Aug 2004 Car: Posts: 8 Photos:	I have a bad DME in my 1993 318i. The dealership wants $1300 for a new one plus labor. There are several auto parts stores that sell rebuilt ones for less then half that price. Can I buy a rebuilt one and plug it right in or do I need to have it programmed at the dealership?
